DETAILED DAY WISE ITINERARY

DAY 1 YOGYAKARTA

On day one, visit the extraordinary Sultan’s Palace or Kraton. Still the hub of traditional life in Yogyakarta, this unique walled city is home to its own market as well as shops, batik and silver industries, museums and much more.

One of the most impressive pieces of Javanese architecture, it was created to reflect the Javanese cosmos and visitors can expect to see expansive courtyards, decorated roofs and intricately carved pavilions. Take in the gloriously turquoise lagoon that is the Water Palace and see the place where local women once came to swim under the watchful eye of the Sultan in the hopes of being chosen for a wife.

After a packed morning, have chance to explore the city’s offerings independently.

DAY 2 BOROBUDUR (B, D)

Day two begins at the break of dawn. Rise early to witness the misty sunrise over the iconic Borobudur Temple. Towering dramatically over impossibly lush green foliage, this magnificent Buddhist monument is one of South East Asia’s most spectacular attractions. Built around 850AD from two million lava-stone blocks, this is the world’s largest Buddhist temple. Visitors are welcome to climb the steps and explore the numerous Buddhist statues and story panels. Enjoy breakfast gazing over this awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage Site.

DAY 3 YOGYAKARTA (B)

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before the local guide takes you back to the airport and onwards to your next adventure.
